We have a jungle theme at pre school and want to make little snakes.i thought we could use a cheese straw recipe but they're all made with butter and mustard. S
Does anyone have a biscuit or bread recipe that could be rolled into snake shapes by the children? If we use a breed mix will we have to leave it to rise?

Marzipan any good?

do they have to be edible?
What about sweet pastry.
You could use a basic peppermint cream recipe (icing sugar, water, flavouring)

Easily handled/shaped, no baking and you can use whatever flavouring and colouring you want
Are you going to eat them? Why not butter and mustard? You could use a scone mix and this would not need to rise...but they would be quite delicate after cooking and would not need very long cooking time. What about make a curled up snake which would be more stable? Good luck.
