Have been using Flora spread for years,
They've now gone and 'improved' the taste...
Improved it?? Errm, I don't think so! .... it's horrible! ... it now tastes cheap and nasty, has a strong artificial margeriney taste/smell...

So, now I'm after another spread,
Any recommendation, please?

pasta; it wasn't meant to insult you because I saw it wasn't "your" answer. It came from the Academy of Wellness, or some such place. Nuff said, I think. Sorry if you were offended!
Sorry gingejbee....I assumed wrongly that you meant my personal answer. I only wanted to use that anecdote to show how artificial spreads like Flora are.
Real butter.
Thanks pastafreak for your comments. I'm going to use butter from now on. Here in Greece they have started selling Flora margarine and have adverts on the TV.
I like Bertolli olive spread, but we're using Utterly Butterly at the moment (it was on special offer :-) and that's nice.
asda's own sunflower spread....
lurpak lighter is ok avoid the lightest you can't do anything with it... holland and barrett do a pure soya spread which is ok if you want to avoid dairy
i tried using a low fat spread, doctors, dieticians orders, but the taste was vile, so now use nothing, or if have to, a tiny little bit of butter.
