Had brill for the first time a few weeks ago. It was fab.
I had Baramundi once. It was amazing.
Go to Spain - order the 'Chef's Selection of Seafood Tapas" - once you get past the 'but everything has tentacles' moment you'll love it.

Fresh, Hand Dived Scallops take some beating in this country - I live for the 'wet fish van' days when I'm on Dartmoor. Scallops that were still in the sea a few hours before, pan fried in butter and served with some home made bread and a little crab pate .... drool
At least this thread didnt go the way of Mollykins one on the diferences between fish and sea food.......
I love all kinds of seafood apart from whelks as they remind me of snails which I have a phobia of. Think my favourite is grilled octopus.
I'm with tigger, anything but whelks
A piece of cod will do me. All the rest make me want to throw up. I'm a simple eater. Basic food is all I'm good at.
Tinks, if you want something partly familiar and partly new, try scallops with black pudding as a starter, with a plum sauce. It's truly delicious.
Lobster, if someone else is kindly paying.
Well said, micmak. Is it the French who say "You eat to live, not live to eat" ?

I agree with JJ that noone can dislike seafood. It is my fav food in the world also.
i want fish pie now
trout with potato salad and hot crusty bread rolls
I'm with micmak, need to keep it simple. Tuna, smoked salmon pieces or a nice bit of haddock from the chipper - you can keep the rest.
tuna, trout, salmon and hake....

Ill let you all know what i decide when i go shopping :0)

Thanks xxxxx
all but cockles and winkles - all fish and including things like sea cucumber which most Westerners do not like.

Lobster, crab, langoustines, scallops and mussels feature high up.... and yes a good dry white wine

I love sushi and sashimi as well - with a good saki.
Carp or pike with horseradish
Anything interesting from the fish market....
Mussels cooked with white wine and garlic. They look a bit weird when you pull them out of their shells, but honest, Tink, the taste is fantastic.
