Fresh milk is very cheap in real terms, I pay £1.74 for 6 pints (29p a pint).

So why is butter at its most expensive?

I agree micmak. Much prefer the real thing but keep in a tub of the other just in case I want a sandwich in a hurry and haven't got the time to let the butter soften.

Buy Country life butter, it's British!
@theprof... anchor butter is no longer imported from New Zealand which is why it doesn't have a "grass-fed" label. It is nasty UK milk, made from silage and grain fed animals. It is NOT suitable for a healthy diet as the fat ratios are terrible! If you look at it you can tell it's poor quality now, it isn't a lovely yellow colour - which would normally mean you are getting decent nutrition. Inflamey* omega 6 is not yum lol.

*not a word, but it sounds cool.
