We had a mini one in our student house last year, and I keep meaning to get my own.  It was GREAT!!!  One housemate did pretty much cook everything in it - I'm not sure I reccommend that though!  However for bacon, chicken breasts, vegetables etc - it is WONDERFUL.  And although cleaning out the fat tray is a gross task - it's better to see it there than know it's in your arteries!!!  I wish you good grilling! :-)

PS - Even works for toast and crumpets etc!

They are the best for making cheese toasties....mmmmm !
We bought a small one and liked it so much we later got the larger one. Great for many things.

Hi Linda, just being a bit mischievous here but wonder why you bought it if you wern't sure of recipes and if it was any good.

Got a Big George and wouldn't be without it.

My tip would be to grill meat for less than the instructions, but it is a question of trial and error and personal taste.

We use ours all the time - we grill chicken fillets, steaks, pork chops, pork ribs, hamburgers and vegetables on it.  Here's a favorite recipe of ours:  place whole or cut up chicken wings on grill.  Season with a bit of black pepper and a touch of garlic powder.  Grill for approximately 15 minutes, or until lightly brown on top.  In the meantime, prepare a mixture of 50 percent hot sauce (Tabasco or similar) and 50 percent butter.  Heat in microwave until completely melted.  Mix.  When your wings are done, coat with hot sauce mix.  Serve with celery sticks and bleu cheese dressing (or Ranch dressing) on the side.
I also don't entirely see how recipes are needed.  The idea is surely just that the George is an alternative to your usual grill, or to frying. So same recipes as before - just use a different tool.  :-)
They are brilliant - great for doing bacon, chicken, pork, vegetables, steaks, sausages, pineapple, peppers etc!   We have the biggest one for indoors, and we use it all the time - nearly every day in fact.  My favourite is grilling bacon and sausage in it, frying an egg (not in the grill obviously!) then putting that all together in bread and putting back in the GF to toast - absolutely gorgeous!
I've got a George Formby grill, everything turns out nice again !!
