This contains free flowing, unrefined sugar crystals and can be used wherever you would use white granulated sugar, e.g. sweetening drinks, sprinkling on cereals and cooking. This is the perfect sugar for tea and coffee.
btw can I ask what peoples views are of value branded flour for example Tesco value flour? The bigger flour brands cost a lot more.... is there actually a difference in the quality which is noticeable in the baking?
ah but on the lemon drizzle cake I do, you mix lemon juice and the sugar together, which breaks down the sugar and then you pour it on the cake and it crystallises on the top of the cake and looks white and snowy, maybe the 'golden' would show??
I was wondering this today when I bought flour, Tesco normal plain in a red pack was about £1 but the Everyday stuff was only 42p, that's a big difference, I bought the dearer stuff incase cheaper was crap but wonder if it really is.
what..the? I bake a lot, and find that the more expensive flours arem much more refined, and therefore need less sifting, and produce lighter cakes, so yes, worth the extra cost!.............
