New potatoes

I have had a few bags of new pots over the last few weeks and most of them have tasted so metallic. What causes them to taste that way?

Bitter or metallic tastes in smaller new potatoes is often the reuslt of their being exposed to cold temperatures...even frost. Additionally, if any of them were slightly green in color (not unusual in new potatoes of different varieties) they will have high levels of solanine which gives the color and also tastes bitter to metallic...
