Hey guys! My boyfriend works in a bar & he's brought home a heap of out of date alcohol, from like 2yrs ago, mostly vodka udl's etc. He wants to just try each one & see if they are ok, but I would rather know before drinking them. Any ideas?

As long as there are no cream ones you should be OK as alcohol is a preservative.

Should be fine, looks like the bar he works in has got no idea about stock rotation! The Vodka stuff lasts ages beer might get a bit flat, just make sure the tops are securely on before you drink it.

Thanks guys!!! I'm not a big drinker, so I wasn't sure. Majority of what he brought home is vodka, and your right about stock rotation. The owner of the bar has no idea what he's doing. Thanks again.

Stock rotation is so simple and yet most often negelected. Sell by dates mean that profit can be severely eaten into and yet so many bars have no idea.  Time and again I go into bars and see someone putting new bottle in front of the old ones, how do they think the ones at the back will ever get sold? The rules are simple if you selll something it must be the oldset one that you have.

And if they stock up in this fashion in mid session (ie putting new bottles in front), it means you get a warm bottle next time you order one. Bluurrghh.
