I am cooking seared Scallops as a starter this evening. Any recipe ideas?

I rather fancy doing them with black pudding and/or a purée and sauce/reduction.

Any suggestions appreciated. Ta x

I keep meaning to try em...but i know they go well with sweet chillie sauce....and so does black pudding xxxxx
Cauliflower puree is delish with scallops and black pudding as is pea puree.

You could also do a hazelnut butter or a herb butter sauce. Sauce vierge is lovely too.

I am so jealous! I love scallops. Enjoy them NoM whatever you do with them xx
Sorry meant to add, crispy pancetta is also lovely crumbled over the top of them if doing them with black pudding xx
I had them recently with black pudding and cauliflower purée.

I don't really like black pudding but it was a lovely combination.

A Raymond Blanc one - with cauliflower puree and a curry oil.

Okay, I'll try to find a cauliflower purée recipe. X
otherwise my fav of roasted with lemon-garlic-butter - could take samphire and even the black pudding.
NoM...it's easy peasy.

Steam it, blend it, dash of cream and S&P. You don't want the flavours too strong as they will over power the scallops. Black pudding is strong enough.
We have them like that NoM, with a plum sauce - the flavours really complement each other.
How do you make your plum sauce, Boxy?
