I love baking (as you know from my FB!) and I would have been lost these past few months if I couldn't whip up a cake. Hopefully a wee business will come from it....fingers crossed! lol
Mary Berry's book is good, but the two Great British Bake Off books are fabulous if you can get them. xx
The only reason Boo can't bake is that she never seems to get past that part of the recipe which reads, "Now put all the ingredients into the oven, instead of getting a big ladle and shovelling them down your neck."
Im not sure of the company name? Can get it thu for you!? Its a company who go into places of work with a pile of books and an order form been going for yearrrs xx
It was in a sick way quite heartening to watch erstwhile excellent bakers crashing and burning (well not burning but undercooking) on something. I can't cook Yorkshire puddings....well not with a traditional one egg recipe. I find that master baker quite mesmerising. Is it the combination of man and cake..or is it the sparkly blue eyes? Not sure but he is gorgeous. My personal favourite was the walnut whip cake. Who cares if it was dry. I bet those folks from Cadbury's are grabbing the idea as I write.
Angel, first time I cooked Yorkshire pudding I had to cook at our (then) pub for paying customers - just measure the stuff out by volume - do the eggs first and then measure everything else in the same thing by eye (something like a glass). Perfect everytime.
I love this programme but no-one else I know watches it so I can never discuss it. The cakes etc that they produce are really good. They put their heart and soul into their baking. My money is on Brendan to win. But that may change next week. The books were about £10 at Asda btw. :)
I also love the programme, never miss it.Does anyone else think Paul Hollywood is gorgeous, those eyes do it for me. I use a site which I love, it's called the Pink Whisk. It's by Ruth Clemens the winner of the first series of The Great British Bake Off in 2010. I love baking, do it most days.
Regards. Val x
