How to emphasise flavour in homemade chicken and potato broth...

...just that guys. I made a really nice soup at the weekend, having it for lunch at work. I put onion, carrot, potato, chicken (all the fresh chicken stock from the roast), water salt and papper, and some parsley and some dried sage but I feel it's just lacking "Something", and not quite sure what, it still tastes real bland. Any suggestions? Don't want to make it spicy, just a little more flavoursome. Using herbs? Or additional vegetable etc?

I use chicken oxo cubes ( not just one but a few )in loads of things,really gives flavour.
It is all about the spices that add flavor to the preparations of great homemade chicken. Even the potato broth is no exception in such cases.
