Honey and Garlic sauce
My husband's son has just got back to France after 8 months in Toronto and last night he was telling us about this Honey Garlic sauce that the Canadians put on everything. Sounds lovely but all he could tell us is he thinks you put the honey in a pan, melt it and add chopped up garlic.....?
Can anyone give me more of an idea? Thankyou - especially as we're having spare ribs tonight.

half a tin of Golden Syrup
1 tsp Mustard
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1 Tbsp Tomato puree
Mix it all together well and baste it over ribs, chicken etc whilst cooking.
The beauty of cold mixes like this is, if you only baste one piece of food to start with and find you don't like it, you can have fun experimenting with different ingredients. I will try adding garlic to the above now you've mentioned it!
Hope you have an enjoyable barbie
Here's another one (written by a Canadian so you may have to convert the cup measures):
HONEY - GARLIC SAUCE FOR OUTDOOR
GRILLING
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. Real Lemon lemon juice
1/4 c. honey
1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. garlic salt
1 tbsp. soy sauce
In small saucepan, melt butter; stir in lemon juice, honey, water, soy sauce and garlic salt. Mixture will be very thin. When grilling, baste meat (chicken, ribs, etc.) constantly. 1 recipe per 3 pounds of meat.
