Why do Tesco put on the Egg Boxes , Keep refridgerated after purchase yet they do not refrigerate them when they are in their shops?. Then as they have a 28 day code on them So they could be that old and not be refridgerated

I read a while back that the eggs on display move out of the shop quickly enough, that cold storage is not required. Whereas those we take home may be used soonish-or may hang around for a bit...or even a month ;-)
Tescos-and other supermarkets - need to cover themselves, and so will recommend the safest storage-even though it's really not necessary.
I always make a pinhole in the fattest end of an egg before boiling to prevent cracking.

"Eggs and cheese - two funny things in my house - I end up using either loads and loads in one week or not use any for week or two and have to throw them."

But both those items will last well over two weeks! Especially cheese, just cut the edges off and it's fine.
They don't crack when boiled if put into cold water then brought to the boil.
It's amazing how many people will throw cheese if it's got a bit dry-or heaven forbid-has some mould on it. Such a waste!
dry cheese is sound for cheese on toast.
I blame Edwina Curry for telling the truth.
How the heck the human race ever survived, wot with all the foods that are bad for us and the fact that the 'clever people' cannot make up their minds from week to week about what is going to kill us next?
I'm that mad now, I could crush a grape. Better not, there might be some fungal spores on it.
I don't waste food anymore - I make meringues if the eggs are more than a week old (By that I mean if I've had them for more than a week) or the dog has one or two in milk he's got a lovely shiny coat now!
cheese ages for anything upto several years, and then it seems to suddenly have a 2 week life once it's been sold... how's that work :)
