I am having a friend for a visit for tea on Friday and she is above - now she has told me genius bread is not bad tasting. Anybody give me a nice meal to make for her without the gluten. Am thinking of above bread and salad - that is all I can think of. Thanks

why not do salmon and potatoes with veg or meat and veg?
Question Author
That is how much I know - thought there was gluten in potatoes - - if not will go for the basic meal cos I do have salmon and halibut and some veggies. Thanks all.

Can I make a pavlova - whites of eggs - vinegar - cornflour (is that gluten) - caster sugar - anything there gluten - thanks again - like it to make a little surprise for her.
Question Author
oh fresh cream and flake
Pavlova is fine for coeliacs.
yes your ok 3 egg whites to 1 tbsp of cornflour
You can make the Pavlova-but leave the cornflour out.
Gluten is present in grains...corn.wheat,barley,oats,etc...and all their by-products.
That's good to know pasta, I was always told there was no gluten in cornflour.
Cornflour is ground maize/corn and is usually suitable for coeliacs.

I stand corrected,slaney.
I have to admit-I don't bother with cornflour in meringues anyway.
I don't use it in meringes but I do with pavlova...it makes it marshmallowey (is that a word??)
It is now...;-)
Question Author
vodka and coke - it does make marshmarlowwy - wrong spelling - will try a little bit.
gooey is the word you are looking for ladies xx
