Halal Wedding Buffet

I have rather stupidly offered to provide a wedding buffet for my sister in law. Now a normal buffet I can do, however tonight I have been informed that there are people attending who will need halal food.

Please help, am clueless now.....(and am considering faking my own death).

She hasn't identified a venue yet! So I don't know!

Although I would prefer to use her kitchen and then ship it there. In my experience halls etc have limited facilities. At least she has three ovens.

We may pay as our present seeing as we don't know what to get them. I was going to come up with a couple of menus at the w/e but was too distracted by the lovely weather so that got put on the back burner.

When I've come up with the menus, I'll post on this thread.

It's forming gently in my head Humbers. Unfortunately, I've had to work this week (hey someone needs to pay the bills) so its been put off. TOnight I am doing AB, crap tv and wine cos my brain aches!!!!!

Sweets are done in my head though!

Strawberries and cream (well hey, it's going to be strawberry season so its gotta be done).

Mixed mini meringues (lemon meringue pie, bombe mexicaine, raspberry pavlova, chocolate chestnut vacharin)

IF freezer facilities - white chocolate amaretto terrine and tiramisu terrine

If NO freezer facilies - white and dark chocolate mousse - one with alcohol and one without.

Mini lemon cheesecakes and vanilla cheesecakes

eton mess with weddingy sprinkles, a huge bowl of strawberries/fruit and a chocolate fountain might be a lot less grief

Its OK, with some planning and some help (and by help I mean people doing what they are told to do when they are told to do it) I can knock this lot up no problem.

I've done quite a few buffets (a 40th, 50th and 60th wedding buffet to name but a few) and it's all down to lists and organisation. (And being up at 5am).

Well, I suggest you to just order the food from any Asian restaurant like London Darbar etc and enjoy the meet with the ones invited.
