Does anyone else feel physically sick at this advert? I mean, seriously, if you just get in from a hard day at work I think the 'meal' I would like to eat least in the world would be turkey ham on a jacket potato. Or turkey ham for breakfast? I'd rather go without ta. While I think about it, is turkey ham a mixture of turkey and pork? Hence the 'ham' part of the name. If not, why is it called turkey ham?
Its called ham because it is cured like ham. In America you used to be able (maybe still can) get turkey bacon, not the horrid stuff that you get here, it was much nicer and crisped up well, also very low fat... I agree with your point about going without as an option though, I'd prefer the spud naked!
hi Natalie I agree I picked some up by mistake in the supermarket thinking it was ordinary ham it was disgusting .Like you the adverts turn my stomach over.
Natalie - I agree with you... synthetic, tasteless pre-packed and just downright nasty. I feel the same way about those Uncle Bens sauces ads - they look too jewel-bright and unnaturally overprocessed - not a bit appetising - yeuch!!!
woofgang, when you say "cured like ham", I take it you mean "curing" in the modern, chemical way? (ie not smoked, air dried or brine bathed, but just pup it full of water and chemicals.)
