Petit Fours

Small dinner party on Friday night (surprise birthday party for mate's wife).

I was thinking of knocking up some petit fours for nibbles over coffee.

I could do some mini meringues (different flavours) or some strawberries dipped in choc.

Does anyone else have any other simple but impressive ideas, please?

There are a few ideas here

but I rather fancy these

(They're so simple that I might even give them a try myself!)

am liking the chilli chocolate idea one.
The last petit fours I had were marshmallow, ganache (flavoured somehow), Turkish delight and mini chic flapjacks.

The Ganache and mini-flapjacks are easy to scale down.
At the restaurant we used to make chocolate ganache cubes flavoured with orange and dusted in cocoa powder, Turkish delight, macarons, tiny lemon tartlets, and tiny profiteroles filled with creme patissiere and dipped in caramel.
