So many things require a long period of time in the oven to aquire flavour and for roasting the fat has to soak in.

I was wondering if a micro combi is even worth considering.

Baking and roasting are two different things. Which is it?
Yes, absolutely - we use the convection function of our combi oven all the time for roasting and would use it for baking (if we baked). It heats up more quickly than a conventional oven and is very efficient. We use convection far more often than the microwave function.

zac I'm just trying to get the pros and cons on both .
I use mine all the time for baking, roasting etc as my big oven doesn't work. Anything a conventional oven does a combi can do.

Combis seem to range in price from under £100 to £700 . and now my gas oven is no longer usable I am thinking of getting a combi if it does
roasting and baking.
However those I've seen have very small turntables ,the biggest seems to be 34cm whereas my simple micro has a turntable which is 37cm . but because it is very old I am in effect looking for something like a combi which could possibly replace both my gas and the micro.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.
My last two microwave, grill, convection cookers have been Panasonic. They now have two proper shelves to slide in the convection oven and you do not have to use the turntable. It also has automatic programmes and the jacket potatoes are loverly and crispy and only take about 15 minutes. I've baked muffins, celebration cakes , roasts, casseroles. I would not be without it
