Are chip-shop chips crap when made with new potatoes?

I refuse to buy them - they're horrible, white offerings!

I'd rather have oven chips in times like this.

Albert, chips should be made with "maris piper" potatoes or as a good standby "king edwards" I speak from experience, I used to own a fish and chip shop.

If I couldn't get either of these I wouldn't even open the shop.

and by the way the chances are that your oven chips will be Maris Piper
