Similar glut here (no turnips tho) and we have a lot of veg stews and veg curries. This year I am freezing surplus veg without blanching to see if it makes any difference.
and this should sort the pumpkins out, again they'll still be good in three or four months - we had great soup last December from pumpkins my neighbour lifted in August
How about a finger buffet? Put out a few dips and invite all your friends around. In the mean time, you could always treat yourself to a triple chocolate fudge cake.
I made a delicious runner bean chutney last year, so that will be made again this year, along with some Glutney, which is a mixture of lots of different vegetables (one of Hugh F-Whittingstalls recipes)
Tonight I mostly had runner beans, cobra beans, courgette, onion, garlic, red pepper, mushrooms & rosemary. All roasted with fresh chilli & potato wedges. Everything was from my allotment bar the mushrooms:-)
