Frozen Chips

I normally make my own chips but watched Saturday Kitchen with James Martin he cooked steak quite expensive one at that but served it with frozen chips which he said were great and they did look good, what brand did use or have you tried any good ones!

If you're going to deep fry frozen chips you may as well just peel a few spuds and make your own, frozen chips no matter how nice are no substitute for the real thing, IMHO :)

His recipe came with a warning!
"Heat a deep-fat fryer to 180C/350F, or until a cube of bread sizzles and turns brown after about a minute. (CAUTION: hot oil can be dangerous. Do not leave unattended. Deep-fat frying frozen chips is potentially dangerous, due to the high water content of the chips. Be sure to put the chips in the fryer a few at a time – you will certainly need to cook them in batches.)"
