We cook ours like this (based on 800w micro, full power):
2lb pud...4 mins 10 secs, stand for 4 mins, cook for further 4 mins 10 secs.
1lb pud... 1 min 40 secs, stand for 4 mins, cook for further 2 mins 20 secs.
You could work out the equivalent in litres, I can't.
Are you referring to my answer, ginge?
I have just double checked and those timings are for cooking, not reheating. We've been doing it this way for maybe the last 20 years.
Reheating is done at 1 min 40 secs per pound of pud.
be very careful with the timings, puds flare up very quickly if they get too hot - my mother successfully set fire to her microwave reheating a pud....
Cooking or heating anything in the microwave when it is more than half sugar is always running the risk of fire. Tie it in a pudding cloth and put it in simmering water in a slow-cooker for at least an hour, or in a steamer over a pan of simmering water for a similar time. As long as the water does not dry up, you can leave it as long as you like, while you do other preparations.
And "sugar" includes all sugars, including the sugars in the dried fruit
