I have done it for years, mostly takeaways that I finished off the next day, with no ill effects. In fact the last one I reheated had prawns in as well, again no problem at all. Is it because there is too much emphasis on food safety that people don't' build up an immune system?

food poisening, there is a nasty bug that likes rice but like you i've always reheated rice with no ill effects
....it's NOT the reheating, it's how the rice was left before reheating....

I leave it to cool overnight, I don't put it in the fridge until the morning. Then re-heat it that following evening and eat it. Always done it that way.
It is both reheating, and storage. It should be cooled down quickly, then refrigerated. Reheating must be at a high temp...not just warm. Those who say they have been reheating for years are lucky...because getting ill from badly stored/reheated rice is nothing to laugh or scoff at.
its ok let it cool but dont use it days later
I've reheated rice since time immemorial and never suffered any ill effects.
Yep, I've definitely suffered ill effects from reheated rice. Home cooked, cooled then refrigerated but not reused and reheated until 2 days later. A tough lesson to learn.
This topic comes up at least half a dozen times a year on AB. Have a look here...and at the link in the Q. While food poisoning from rice is rare,it can be a killer.
