how can I find out if asda has changed the recipe of their bread mix? I have been using it for a couple of years, since my hands became to painful to knead it myself, and I always swore it was the best mix I had tried, but for the last few months the loaves have not been as good, smaller and not so light as they used to be, I am hoping its the mix and not my bread machine that's to blame, I have looked asda up but can't find a "contact us" anywhere.

You could try here http://groceries.asda.com/asda-webstore/landing/home.shtml#!ContactUs It could be that their recipe is the same but they are sourcing their ingredients from a different place and that has affected the quality.

The ingredients will all be shown on the back of the packet, surely?
But you would also need a packet from a couple of months ago to compare the ingredients...

thanks 237sj that is very helpful, I have sent them an email and waiting for a reply.
Hi Cecil, I posted recently on on bread not rising as much etc, what I found out is that breadmakers have very little in them to go wrong, I then changed the yeast which made no difference, then I purchased Canadian bread flour which is often added to British/European flour to increase the gluten content and the result was well risen, light bread.I had some Allinson's flour and wrote to them and they and other flour producers have known about this problem for the past 2 years. The wheat harvest has been affected by the weather ,the upshot being that there is less gluten to get the bread to rise.Asda should reimburse you.
