Think I've 'boiled' it for too long, it's not as tender as it should be.

Does anyone have any ideas if I can somehow get it to become tender?

Many thanks :-D

slice it put in a casserole dish with onions and gravy etc and slow cook for a couple of hours
I cook brisket for about 4-5 hours on a low heat with plenty of sauce - maybe it's just undercooked alba?
I didn't realise you could overcook brisket. I thought, the longer you cooked it, the tenderer it became. Mind you, I don't cook brisket. I don't like it.
this will tenderize

lol wish i was called "faint" (blushes I'm off)
I would put it into a roasting tin and pour beer round it with 1 oxo cube and a bay leaf and celery and onion and cook in the oven slow until lovely and tender. The beer makes a lovely gravy.
I have done it in my slow cooker . Came out nice and tender.
The word there is ''boiled'', you need to bring it to the boil then turn it down to a low simmer so the water is just moving not bubbling, then it will tenderise before falling apart
I always "pot roast" it. Sear the meat, remove from the pan, then I add some nice chunky veggies, sling in some red wine, a slug of port (it "sweetens" the wine) some beef stock and seasoning and put it in the oven for a few hours. Then I remove the meat and veggies, and add some slaked cornflour to the liquid to thicken the sauce or else I let it simmer down until it is nice and thick, alternatively I mix some butter with some flour and add that to the gravy which makes it nice and glossy. As you can see I cook with a lot of specific measures, but if you would like I can send you the proper recipe - just drop me a line Alba and it's yours - it never fails!

I think part of the problem was stopping and starting it cooking as leaving it on a gas hob with no-one in the house is a no-no.

Nun, many thanks, will do xx

All that time, electric/gas costs saved if you used a pressure cooker (20mins at most)
alba, you need a slow cooker :-)
