Daughter brought me a carton of egg mayonnaise sandwich spread, but I already have some, and the use by date is the 18th this month, is it OK to freeze?

Delia says 'no, no, no'.
I would say definitely not - the mayo will split/go grainy and the eggs rubbery. Just use it quickly - a few days over the use by date won't kill you.

Thanks folks.
If the only alternative is to throw it away, then I would say yes, freeze it as an experiment. What have you got to lose? But I would probably do what everyone else has suggested and eat it asap
