I bought one of these (non electric) but ended up disappointed - instead of a round 9 inch roti I had a 4.5 inch one instead. I tried a bigger ball of dough but ended up with an even thicker small roti.
Has anyone got one of these and used it successfully?

not sure why you need one, can you not just use your hands?
Does seem a bit of a gimmick to me too.
Sounds like yours is not squashing thin enough, are the hinges too loose ? Or maybe your dough is too stiff.

thanks for your replies woofgang & old_geezer

I make quite a few chapatis and they take what feels like an eternity to roll, I thought it would be a lot quicker to use the press but they end up quite thick and small even with a bigger dough ball.
I think it's not flattening enough - there seems to be a little gap between the pressing plates. I now have to think of a way to cross that!!
Layers of sticky plastic on the face ?
