What can I use as a substitute for 'butter flavour shortening' - it's for a bread roll recipe (to grease the tins)? Thank you.

Butter or marg will be fine.
At least if the rolls turn out *** you've got an excuse!

Your title and this question reminds me of when I made a pork pie recently and the pastry had cracked slightly. The instructions I was given by a cheffy mate were

"put butter in your crack". I really had to respond rudely to that one.
Glad we got to the bottom of that ...
