personally I wouldn't keep it longer than a day (24 hours) after I had bought it if you don't know when it was cooked. If it hasn't been frozen, then you can freeze it.

Hi TX LADY,

I completely agree with (wise) woofgang,you have to be so,so,so careful with any shellfish!

We are lucky here (6 miles from the south coast) we can see live crabs being landed AND boiled in front of you,so we know they are extra fresh;BUT if you don't then I agree 24 hours is the absolute longest.

Now you've made peckish,I could do with a crab sandwich!LOL
