Reading mulbergers question got me thinking.

What ever happened to Tab. I think it was a Coca-Cola brand..

What other brands have disappeared off our shelves?

I used to love a Coconut Boost, but all they've left me with is the biscuity variety

Wispas! They were magic, much better than overhyped Aeros. But they have vanished, probably never to return. I miss them.

(pause for realisation that I probably need a hobby, if the deletion of a type of chocolate bar leaves a gaping chasm in my life)

Remember Spangles ~ Fruit flavour and Old English flavour!

Oh and a chocolate bar called Minty - I think!  It was two thinnish chocolate oblongs with a filling of green mint crispy flakey stuff.........delicious!!

soozmac, whispas became Dairy milk bubbly, a bit like cadburys caramel became Dairy milk with caramel

But they are in block for, the bubbly, and not as nice as the whispas even though its the same choc!

There was another fizzy drink called Quadro - which was weird because it was bright green.

Tab was clear wasnt it but it was made by Coca-Cola - I was addicted to it.Pink can. - or was it clear.They def brought out something which was clear.Think Tab was pre-amble to diet - coke.

Smash ice lollies and my v favourite Five boys chocolate bar.Just a Fry's bar but each segment was a different flavour.

Just read about all these things btw!!!

Quizmonkey - was it Quattro? It was made of 4 flavours I think, including passion fruit, which was the only thing you could taste!

Yes buddy I think it was something like that, I also remember the Fry's bar with the different centers ~ 5 flavours I think! BTW I Left AB at 4.30 sharp yesterday for an appointment with, yep the dentist........way to many sweet things me thinks!!

Thanks, Boobesque and Richb14 - I don't have to get a hobby now. Hurrah! (although joining a gym may be a plan, if I start back on the Wispas again...)

TaB was an sugar free coca-cola. I prefered it to CC because it was less sweet, but many people didn't like it for that very reason -- and the 'saccharine taste'. Later they changed from using saccharine as a sweetner to on eof the newer artificial sweetners, and the taste became too sweet for me.

When market demand for low calorie drinks soared and competitors introduced 'lite' or 'diet' versions of their drinks, Diet Coca Cola was introduced and TaB vanished in UK as I recall. But it still available in the US -- they've played around with it, once there was a clear version.

What I'd like is a no-calorie soft drink that doesn't taste sickly  sweet.

What about my all time favourite (anyone remember them...?) Texan Bars. The chewiest confectionery bar ever - took about half an hour to eat.

texan bars are out at the moment for a limited perion ,i think it ws frys that made them they are doing a nostalgia choccie thing at the moment ,but i have yet to see them in the shops -try www,aquarterof.com they do texans and all the other yummies from childhood-pineapple chinks,koff kops,rhubarb and custard

Does anyoby remember Cremola Foam ? A sort of Cream Soda drink it was out around the time when Cliff was a youth.

NOW THEN

there was a weird, japaneezy-named drink (c1984-9) with a bizarre can design, that as far as i can remember tasted a bit like bubble gum (the drink, not the can design), but different.

tell me, tell me now, what it was. and that they're gonna make it again!

apparently every thing i love gets discontinued...i loved Tab Clear, i loved coconut boost and wispa and my favourite ever...pacers! anyone remember those? they were like mint chewits and were white with green stripes on them. i loved them, but no-one remembers them.

(i also loved cremola foam. apparently it was just andrews liver salts with some fake fruit flavouring. maybe this hideous description put everyone off?)
