Does anyone have a really good recipe for an almond cake? Not using whole almonds, maybe ground with an essence.

And if you are looking for a less almondy flavour with a chocolate twist, I've done this one several times and it's a winner (Doesn't contain gluten, and yes, you really do have to boil the oranges for 1.5-2 hrs, but it's worth it :-)

enjoy!
It will be lovely BB. I love almond cake and I like the edges a bit crispy. I'm a useless baker so I have to buy mine. Mr Kipling comes in handy as an emergency standby although he doesn't bake exceedingly good cakes, only rather mediocre ones.

I got a hamper earlier this year from someone and it had a nice spongy type almond cake included. It was so moist and lovely. I would like to make one without cherries but I'll follow the recipe and see what it's like. Thanks
peaspeculiars. Janbee will let you know what it's like when I've made it.
