Defrosting A Whole Chicken...

I have a small whole chicken currently in the freezer but would like to use it tomorrow, around lunch time.
Do I have time to defrost it and, if so, should I keep it out on the side overnight or would it defrost in time if I put it in the fridge?

Thanks.

Take it it now and leave on a plate to one side, when you go to bed pop in the fridge, if not defrosted in the morning take out and put on the side again.

Brill, thanks :-)
you're welcome.
Room temperature from now to lunch time tomorrow should do it. No need for the fridge which might retard thaw.
If room temperature is a bit high it would be better in the fridge overnight, or the outer surface of the chicken could reach temperatures that would support the growth of bacteria at a dangerous level.
I would leave mine in a freezing pot of water - works everytime
just stick it in a slow cooker for about 8 hours
just leave it out all night in a coolish place -obviously not near a radiator - then pop it in the fridge tomorrow morning.
