DS has decided that school dinners are no longer for him and as from next week is going onto 'packed lunch'

Mornings are busy enough as it is, so making sandwiches is daunting!!

Can anyone suggest filled sandwiches that would freeze well?  Then I could make a batch at the weekend to take me through the week.

I don't know any freezable sandwiches but when I had packed lunches my mum used to make them the night before and have them ready to just grab the lunchbox in the morning... obviously you can't use anything like tomato as this makes the bread soggy. Does fishpaste freeze? I used to love fishpaste sandwiches and they don't go soggy being sat in a box most of the day :P I make my own sandwiches now and have done since I was about 11.

Firstly i like your name.

Secondly i dont think freezing sandwiches is a great idea, as suggested making them the night before is probably the best way.  Dependant on how old your child is you could always give them bread and a little tub of sandwich filler away and they can make their sandwiches fresh at lunchtime

I freeze sandwiches for uni on sunday and take one a day, never had any problems with it. Worth moving it into the fridge the night before though, to ensure it's defrosted.

Mine are normally some of the following: Tuna, ham, cheese (grated for best thawing), jam. Cucumber is alright but lettuce is a no-no.
