Tesco have discontinued Aunt Bessie's as 'they are not popular'. I find that very hard to believe so would like your views.

aunt bessies for me
I thought there was something wrong, I made the freezer chap go and find out why they didn't have Aunt Bessies and he came back non the wiser. So, I went and bought oil for my fat fryer.

I really, really hate Tesco own brandand McCains.

I hate McCain's and Tesco own chips, so I have to buy Aunt Bessie's from Morrison's. They are still on sale in Asda, Sainsbury's and Waitrose, too.
we still have aunties at tescos in Glasgow, bought them last week

If this thread proves a point I will happily send a link to Tesco.

McCain for us!

They won't be replaced when the current stock is sold, Kate. It will be a sea of McCains :(
Aunt Bessie's food is all of great taste and quality.

Tesco chips need to be cooked for about double the suggested time before they get the raw and uncooked taste eradicated
If nothing else, this thread shows the power of TV advertising....

Best oven chip type thingy I've ever tried - just need to cook for a bit longer than it says and then they're great.
If you have a deep-fat fryer pop oven chips in & fry for a few mins then taste the difference.Wow.
marks and spencers triple cooked thick chips for me

WR, if I had a deep fat fryer I'd make my own chips
Waitrose chunky chips...
Do any oven chips taste like and have the texture of real chips?
Tommy Atkin's Ye Olde Fish and Chip Shoppe just around the corner, down the High Street, past the Hare And Hounds, and right next door to the ship chandler's down the cobble-stone alley ending at the wharf.
Home made.
Do any oven chips taste like and have the texture of real chips?

No they don't, Eccles.
Well, Tommy does live there, so I guess they're home-made.
It's a cunning ploy by Tesco. We've not been able to buy Aunt Bessie's roast potatoes there lately and they stopped selling AB's pancakes well over a year ago (at my branch).
