Ive just chunked up a load of bendy carrots which have been hiding at the bottom of my veg basket for a week. I then cut an orange into twelve bits, skin on, gave them a squeeze over the carrots to get some juice out and then chucked them into the tray with the carrots. A couple of splashes of rapeseed oil, two heaped teaspoons of ground cumin, and a bit of salt, and they're ready to go in the oven in an hour or so.
We'll be having them with mangetout, peas, and mashed sweet potato, and some kind of pork things...not chops and not steaks, but very thick and tender whatever they are. Maybe a small puddle of gravy too.

Oooh, that sounds lovely. I've had a hard week at work, so don't plan to spend too much time in the kitchen. I'll be doing pork chops, kidney, perhaps some liver, too (still undecided on the liver) with chips, tinned tomato and grilled mushroom. Already tucking into my starters of gin and tonic.
I'll be having a punnet of strawberries with a ramekin of cream and another of balsamic vinegar for dunking.

If you have any carrots left over blitz them up with a spoon of tahini and a little more oil and OJ or PLJ to make a tasty hummus style dip.
Sat night pub dinner here, whacked after cutting the lawns (3) and drive verges....
They're having chicken and bacon salad, new potatoes and fresh baked rolls with strawberry cornettos for treat.
Was going to have a beef casserole, shall have to freeze it now. Have had a better offer, so shall be going out for an Indian meal.
What's PLJ Eccles ?
We're having sea bream with Jersey potatoes, was looking forward to samphire but this is the day Tesco haven't got any so asparagus instead finished with lemon butter.
PLJ=pure lemon juice
Tesco have created a pizza for me, it should be here soon...

Always, I'm having the same starter as you ;)
D'you know Eccles, I've never had strawberries and balsamic, and I don't know why not. I believe they're nice with a bit of black pepper too. Something for me to remember to try. Good idea about blitzing any leftover carrots too, assuming there are any leftovers...
Quite fancy any of your meals people, well, apart from the sea bream as I'm not a great fish fancier, same with samphire, find it quite an overpowering salty bitter taste. Maybe ought to give it another go though, no good writing something off just on one tasting is it?
