Anyone know how many slices in a sliced loaf please?

I am sure they vary slightly, but an average would be helpful.

Many thanks

Simplest way is to buy one and count them.

If you can tell me where I can buy a thin sliced loaf these days, Tilly, I'll bite your arm off! Haven't seen it in years, and I much prefer very thinly sliced bread. A cucumber sandwich is not the same without it.
Sliced Bread is Medium, Toastie, or Super Toastie now Tilly . Not seen 'thin' sliced for ages.

Thank you all. The list is brilliant Tilly.

I don't buy ready sliced bread, but need to know as I am helping out with a marathon sandwich making session for a friend

It will be medium sliced but thank you we now have our answer and can work out numbers.
Get the supermarket to slice their own bread for you and ask for it to be cut thin. Alternatively, slice it yourself, my late Dad was a whizz with a breadknife!
That would suit me down to the ground. Trouble is, my nearest Asda is five miles away. If it is made by Warburton's why don't other places sell it? Living on my own, half a loaf is usually wasted. Don't tell me to freeze it, I loathe defrosted bread.
supermarkets don't cut it thin either zebo, or at least not round here. It's medium or thick and that's yer lot..
In catering you work on getting 20 slices in a loaf. Makes 10 'rounds' of sandwiches.
humbersloop is correct. Even the long-established local family baker's near me don't do thin. They also charge you an extra 3p for the privilege of slicing it!
3p!! that's a bit tight - max I've been charged is a penny
Our local baker charges 3p as well but I don't mind as I only buy one loaf a week. We don't eat much bread.
Jackdaw Have you tried Warburtons Milk Roll....soft round white bread and thinly cut ?
My local baker doesn't charge. Their filled rolls are on a par with M&S price wise though...
I love warburtons milk loaf the bread is nice and thin with a great texture
