wensleydale cheese and christmas (fruit) cake.
my mum loves it and its not too bad!
Thinly sliced Granny Smith apple on hot buttered toast.

dominoes pizza have started doing a Jamacian banana pizza. Wow!!!!!

Peanut butter with cold crispy bacon is yum too.

I love a bit of rich fruit cake with cheese ,also cheese and apple or cheese and pear. Strawberries with black pepper and balsamic vinegar are nice too!

Cheese and banana on toast is gorgeous.  Another favourite is chillied banana (i use it as a dip), but that's maybe not so weird as a lot of countries have dishes that involved curry or chilli and fruit.

I know someone who swears by bacon and marmalade on toast (I can't pluck up the courage for that one, I'm afraid, as I hate marmalade).

ooooh cheese on toast with marmalade.  Or just a plain old cheese and marmalade sandwich. mmmmmmmmm

and, cheese on toast with peanut butter toast one side, on the other spread peanut butter, pop cheese on and toast. mmm mmm mmm

I'm not surprised at strong cheddar working well with strawberry jam. Most strong flavoured cheeses work well with sweeter flavours. (I came across a sarnie shop selling Stilton Cheese & Mango Chutney sandwiches. Sounds odd, tastes great!).

I used to be a bar manager in a hotel with a top quality chef. (He trained under Robert Carrier). Whenever it was strawberry season he would reach for the black pepper! (It took me several years before I tried it but strawberries with black pepper & creme freche are just great!).

Cherry tomatoes with caramelised sugar sauce or something like that. My boyfriend's friend who is a chef made this and it tastes wonderful.

I am a bit too lazy right now to look more into this, but this science professor called Peter Barham has worked with the restaurant  the Fat Duck where they use chemistry to figure out which ingredients work well together. They have come up with dishes such as salmon and liquorice, sorbet on sardines, ice on toast with scrambled eggs and bacon, and other really wierd stuff. According to a Danish newssite this has given the restaurant three stars in the Micheling Guide.

feta cheese with watermelon and melba toast
my nan always used to do marmite and ketchup sandwiches for my parties.  havent eaten em in a while but as a kid i'd wolf em down.

baked beans in spaghetti bolognese, not THAT weird, but makes people laugh. Its good though.
my fave is cheesy wotsits and chicken cup

Bacon & banana toasties (though my wife doesn't agree!)
Cheese and jam, cheese and marmalade, cheese and tuna,
toast, cheese (not melted) and strawberry jam - my favourite snack.   Also, tuna mixed with philly (or other soft cheese) and a squirt of salad cream.......a fantastic sandwich filling.

Cheese and grated apple, toasted with worcester sauce.

strawberries and balsamic vinegar.

whipped cream with marge.
