Suppenkraut in English

What is the English name for the herb which Germans call 'Suppenkraut'? It is similar to parsley and used in soups.

It is normally called Suppengr�n.A mixture of veg for making a soup or stock which includes parsley,carrots,celery and leeks.
Kraut or Kr�uter is a broad term for any kind of herb.

No it's definitely a herb which grows as a bush, but seems only to go by the name 'Suppenkraut', and tastes more pleasant than parsley.

Suppenkraut means soupherb translated. The only other thing I can think of is Gartenkerbel which is chervil.In Germany we say suppenkraut or suppengr�n as a broad term for a bunch of mixed herbs or veg eg parsley,celery etc. similar to the bouquet garni that you would use in soups and stews.This would include parsley,thyme,rosemary etc.

It could also be a herb called liebst�ckel which is lovage.

But this again comes under the suppenkraut umbrella.
When a recipe calls for suppenkraut in Germany this always means a mixture of herbs or veg.
