Cau Restaurants

Have any of you tried one of these places?

A friend has suggested going and although tripadvisor is largely positive I am interested in first hand opinions.

Went to the one in Wilmslow last year – frankly a bit disappointed.
My main course was their unique take on a noodle-based thing. The noodles were very thin and baked dry. The waiter actually told me it was one they were about to take off the menu because nobody liked it! He could have said something before I ordered…
My daughter and mum were with me. Their dishes were ‘not too bad’ but nothing special either, and the Wilmslow restaurant at least is a little pricey (mind you, the place is crawling with footballers). Don't know if it varies according to location.

I thought that was what TripAdvisor is all about!

However anywhere that seeks to charge a tenner for a basic burger (without either chips or salad) is unlikely to get my custom!

Hmmm, perhaps I was careless with my phraseology, I'm not a great fan of tripadvisor.

Burgers come with chips or salad as far as I can see.

However I still think that I could find food of the same quality for less elsewhere. (My middle name is Scrooge!).

Hi EC

the daniels went there for a birthday dinner - i have left feedback on Trip Advisor. I found it - sorry we found it, overpriced, not enough food for what you're paying, seating booths uncomfortable and overall very noisy, will never go back

Hi EC, happy new year hun

so what was your verdict since you don't want to go back either? it's a different experience for everyone i'm sure but i'm intrigued to what's put you off.
