Hi Abr's. As we bulk buy we freeze our bread both white and wholemeal. Problem is,once defrosted overnight a loaf only lasts about 2 days then it starts to go mouldy. Any suggestions gratefully recieved.thanks.

Pain in the bum I know, but why don't you divide the loaf in half then freeze it.  My Nan does this as she only eats  a couple of slices a day.
I agree with frizzytwig, I freeze the whole thing and just take out what I need for that day.  Lasts ages that way.
Hi Fina,  you do not mention the brand of bread you are buying, I buy and freeze Hovis and it lasts ages. It is the only bread I  find that is as good when it thaws as before you freeze it.
I'm with DillyGent, I only take out what I am going to use for sandwiches etc for the day.  If it's for toast I take it sraight from the freezer as you can still pop it in the toaster.
We gave up storing our bread in a bread bin. It has no ventilation and in a warm kitchen it can go sweaty or mouldy very quickly.  Once we've remove our bread from the freezer we store it in the fridge and it keeps perfectly for a week.
