Well then for the full experience you'll need to buy some plates and bags.

Have you made that one Grasscarp? What did the texture end up like?
No. I haven't made it so I don't know. A couple of the reviews gave it 5 stars.

It was the other one on the page that concerned me.

It did seem pretty close, although I don't think I need a base?
Problem for me would be that it is an American recipe. Depends on the size of your cups! Is cornstarch the same as cornflour?
Jack - yes.

And you can buy cups for a couple of quid that have the American cup sizes as well the the UK measurements.
are these flans you can only get in a french train station? Is there a secret guild of french train station flan makers?

To me it is simply what I've always called a Baked egg custard - this is the recipe I would use.

A thing of joy, real comfort food - you can of course do it in a pastry case or do some individual ones in ramekins.

I think I'm trying to define them that way as I want the super junkfood version?

As for the guild... I can't find them on google, so that's pretty secret?
i wonder what the secret handshake would be like...
Messy.

I want that Mayma, but, can it be carried? Is it portable without the dish?
What do the French serve it in- a bag?
If you want to take it out and about, make individual ones in pastry cases.
You will need to cook it in a pastry case. My mother always did.
Agreed if you're taking it to work etc but it's just as delicious without and less stodgy if you are cutting down on pastry etc.

It was in a bag Mamya! on a pretend cardboard plate!
