I followed the recipe on NoM's thread last week and most people said equal amounts of milk, flour and eggs so I've filled a mug with flour, then with milk, but when I've gone to do the eggs the cup has taken 5 eggs to fill it! Isn't that too much??

That's why I always do the eggs first.

I use a measuring cup. 3 eggs is always plenty.
Oh...and if you've made too much remember Yorkshires freeze really well.
Question Author
I've never thought of freezing them
Aunt Bessie freezes them :-)

Honest...freezing them doesn't make any difference to them imo. They only take 5 mins or so to reheat from frozen.
Question Author
They're in the oven so fingers crossed!
Question Author
They were great!

Yaaaay we never have any left to freeze
Know what you're saying Islay :)
Dipped in gravy and eaten as snacks mmmmm
Hope you are feeling okay, Islay....
Question Author
I made far too many so we have leftover Yorkies and roasties for supper with gravy!
Yum yum, starving now..:)
some sausages or bacon with them....?
Question Author
Honestly that recipe on NoM's post last week worked perfectly
Or re heat gently dusted with icing sugar and when warm put a blob of icecream on it yummmmm
Eggs vary in size so go for the volume not the number.
Question Author
I did Eddie. It was a lot of eggs (5) but the exact same volume as the milk and flour. Worked a treat!!
what was the recipe please, I can't find NoM's thread
equal volumes of plain flour, milk and egg and a pinch of salt. Whisk together and let stand in the fridge for about 30 minutes. meanwhile put a little of your chosen oil or fat, make sure its one you can deep fry in, it needs to get very hot, in your tin and heat it in a hot oven till it smokes. remove from the oven and quickly pour in the batter. Give the batter a stir first. cook for 10 to twenty minutes depending on the size of the yorkies, don’t open the oven door till you think they are nearly done.
