one of the lads in the bar drinks 1/2pint cider mixed with 1/2pint 60/- beer, can anyone tell us if this mix has a special name

I think it was more the type of people who were inclined to ask for snakebites.

I worked in pubs in my youth and served snakebite - never saw any untoward behaviour.
