Do You Shop Online For Food

why is it that i spend twice as much shopping on line for food than i do if i just pop to the shops. I shop online mostly because i can't get out much to do with restricted mobility, but i am finding myself spending more than i ought, not to mention the 7 quid delivery fee.. does anyone else do the same.

I'm not sure I spend more, haven't overly analysed it though.

I have a delivery pass, £7 a month for as many deliveries as I like.

with Sainsburys who mostly get it right, the occasional item left off the list but i am finding that i am spending twice as much just for me, and this is not full to brimming with fast foods.

Have used most of them, my delivery pass is with Tesco.

Blips are rare and quickly sorted if the occur.

Have been online shopping for years, use Tesco and ASDA depending on the goods required.

Our shopping bill decreased massively. We have a white board in the utility room where we write up items needed, then use the tablet/phone to go round checking items on the favorites and buy if necessary. The only exceptions can be offers on items we normally buy, these we do bulk buy but that obviously saves money.

£7.00 for delivery? I pay £1 - £2 for ASDA and £2 to £3 for TESCO. Used to have anal passes but that locks you to one shop which I dont like.

I have Delivery Saver with Tesco,for which I pay £72 pa.Because I like my deliveries on a Sunday the charge is £6,which works out £312 pa( once a week delivery).A good saving.

don't you have to spend so much money before your delivery charge kicks in, i have to spend 25 quid to get a home delivery..

I shop online and only purchase milk and bread from corner shop and occassional emergency sweet.
My food bills have gone right down.

From the ASDA site on annual passes. There are many different types of passes now I see.

One thing you do have to be wary of I have found are "sponsored" items in your favourites. A bit like the bins they put at the end of the isles or by the checkouts you avoid.

Emmie, Tesco add £4 to your bill if shopping is less than £40.My weekly bill is always over that,

i intended to buy up to 25 quid and then add on the delivery charge then decided to add this and then that, and before i know it i have spent 45 quid,
i do write a list but online makes me keep adding items
i will think i need.

I send my cleaner to do my shopping. I give her a list and my debit card and that's that.

I use Ocado. Delivery 'pass' is about £12 a month for unlimited deliveries (to different addresses, if you want), and you get about a ten-percent reduction on many goods (I've checked, by logging in and seeing prices, and then logging out and seeing the same prices jump).

So I'd say it is worth it, and they do claim to be the same price as Tesco (or cheaper), so it's not a posh shop (like Waitrose!)

My delivery pass is £6.99 for unlimited deliveries to any address with Tesco, which means as long as I do one friday or saturday delivery am month I am quids in!
