why was the discovery of alcohol "by accident"

I'd imagine it's because there's no way on earth anyone would have eaten rotting / fermenting fruit except by accident lol!


I also wonder about bread sometimes - how on earth did something that complicated (with yeast et al) ever get invented?

Another observation, possibly watching what animals eat, monkey's etc, and then curiosity.
and who discovered that you can get milk from a cow ....?
and what did he think he was doing at the time ?????

My guess is that someone had cooked up a load of fruit, possibly to drink later or make something else out of...stored it, the natural air born yeast had done it's job and then sometime later when that person went to drink some of their stored fruit or eat it (whichever) they discovered that they fell over if they ate too much.


Fruits have natural sugars etc in them so it's very easy to get basic fermentation going.
