Has anyone ever tasted this? My nephew has just been to Sweden and the airport would not let him take it on the plane, even in a tin inside a box! It is fermented salted herring, apparently.

It's apparently the worst-tasting/smelling putrid food on the planet!

My son brought home a jar of rotting something or other from university. We had to get him to chuck it out at a service station.
I think it was some kind of cabbage.
