A chilled dry white would do the job nicely.

I quite enjoy Mavrodaphne of patras
its very sweet quite strong and drowns the taste of the fish which I don't like

There are many good ones emmie, French, Italian, English, Spanish, Australian, New Zealand. One of my favourites is the Marlborough region of New Zealand.

It's a juicy, fragrant white. Not overpowering. A good all-rounder that would accompany many foods.

a little grigio from Italy if you like your wines on the lighter side and if the poisson is delicate - a Gavi also from Italy for the meatier fish....you could always go for a light red and chill down a Beaujolais and I would go for the Villages - flavour and depth to it than the young stuff....a 2016 would work well.

The rules have all been relaxed nowadays...have whatever you like best...I always go for a rose from Languedoc/ Roussillon area but I am very fond of a mateus Rose.....but if you fancy a red just go for it!
