Some friends brought us back a souvenir box of Maple Cookies from Canada, shaped like Maple leaves. We wish they would go back to Canada. Until we persuade them, where can we get a substitute?!!

I've seen Maple Cookies, like the ones you describe, in independent delicatessens, so it's worth trying your local ones. (I can't find any online deli's selling them, though).

If you ever get into central London, I think that there's still a Canadian shop somewhere around Covent Garden. (If you can't find it, try drowning your sorrows in the Canadian pub - the Maple Leaf - I can recommend their meatloaf!).

Otherwise you could always make your own:

Many thanks Chris. A trip to London is being planned.

yesterday I was shopping in Costco and saw the cookies, maple leaf shaped with maple syrup flavoured vream in the middle, and remebered your post. Bought some and they are gorgeous, especially dunked in coffee.
