sweets from the 1960

A stick of light coloured toffee twisted around a chocolate core. I think it was about 8 inches long and possibly made by Trebor. What was it called ? and a don't suppose they still make it, do they?

I remember "Everlasting Strips" though! They were flat, light coloured toffee strips about 8" long & 1" wide! As they got softer, you used to stretch them out to as long as you could - yummy!

I think they were called chocstix, like a stick of barley sugar but caramel outside with chocolate up the middle.

Reading the answer - everlasting strips - bought back memories - we called them everlasting toffees and if you were careful you could make them last right through saturday morning pictures

I've often told other people about these sweets. They were really yummie, but like all good things, they took them off the market. Can't remember what they were called.

They were called chocstix and they were wrapped in orange cellophane (like lucozade glass bottles used to be!) Yummy!!! They were made by Trebor. A neighbour of ours used to work there and she used to bring us bags of sweets home at the weekend. Cherry drops, fruit salad, blackjacks and lollipops.

They were made by Trebor and called CHOCSTIX. They were wrapped on orange coloured celophane. Shaped like a barley sugar twist. They may have disappeared when the firm was taken over by Cadbury's in the 1980s. Maybe they could have disappeared earlier, because I don't remember them after the 1970s. The toffee outer tasted very much like the present Werther's Original sweets.

If you sucked them for a while they came to a point at the end. They used to scratch your mouth 8-)
