On this beautiful day?
He is having pizza with cheesy coleslaw and I am having a seafood platter with crayfish, prawns, crab claws and home cured salmon.
Dessert is sticky toffee pudding for him and strawberry trifle for moi.

They’re having ping and ding chicken chow mien as I’m working till 10 and my sous chef (eldest daughter) is going out. I’m going to be sampling a ping and ding cheese and ham toastie if I feel like it.
Question Author
Love a ping and ding dinner.
Salmon is dead easy bednobs, equal amount of sugar and sea salt, herbs of choice I used lemon balm as it’s going mad and mix in a tot of gin - not necessary but lovely.
Cover the salmon (I did a bit equivalent to two small fillets) with the cure. Wrap in clinky film then pop in a bag in a plastic box and put some weight on top of it like cans.
Leave for 24 hours rinse dry and slice as thin as you like.
I often leave mine for 48hours.
Sounds fab!
is that raw?
We’re having a Sainsburys fancy pants pizza, can’t remember the exact toppings, it’s a thin and crispy one, with a salad of chopped cucumber, halved cherry tomatoes, chopped red pepper, and halved red grapes. Accompanied by a bottle of Crement de Loire, and
followed by a cherry pie and Elmlea.
All preceded by a couple of G&Ts in all likelihood :)
Your platter sounds fabulous...all that lovely seafood.
Going to newish upmarket pub tonight with DD and her partner. I saw a fish platter that would suit me...or several starters. I'm not really a steak person.
Question Author
Raw as in it’s not cooked with heat but the cure dries it out so it doesn’t taste raw.
Last night I had sashimi which is raw salmon yummy
Question Author
I love a steak it’s the only meat I eat now.

Enjoy your dinner with DD I am glad she got to you xx
Cheese & Onion pie, broccoli, spinach, sweet potato
Ginge is making me lunch. I've requested poached eggs (he calls himself the egg King)

Not sure about dinner. I think I'm going veggie today, he'll probably have ribs (I don't eat that muck)
It will be a sushi feast tomorrow night. Daughter orders...we both stuff ourselves. Bliss!
Question Author
Had poached eggs for breakfast.
I do hope APG will be along shortly her menus are always interesting.
But I mostly miss Eccles on these threads her menus were fantastic.
Question Author
I can’t eat sushi so just order the sashimi.
Will visit our fave sushi restaurant next time we are in Belfast
I had sushi last night. It was lovely. Enjoy, Pasta.
Ive just had smoked salmon & cream cheese on a gluten free thin for lunch, with a small glass of Pino Grigio. Tonight OH & I are having Surf & Turf with fillet steak and massive shrimp marinated in Montreal rub -which is really for steak but lovely with shrimp. Probably do just salad with that unless OH wants some saute potatoes. I've loads of ice ream treats in the freezer so that will be the pud probably.
Question Author
Well hello there lol
I don’t like surf and turf like the separately but not together
Hi Martin (waves to self lol). I actually eat the shrimp first like a starter then the fillet. Only do S&T when we have fillet as OH needs 'filling up' lol!
Question Author
Hi me/you!!
